On 30th January 2025, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) attended the Chinese New Year celebrations organized by the China Media Group (Islamabad Office). The event drew a diverse audience that included many Chinese nationals living in Islamabad and Pakistani citizens from various sectors, highlighting the cultural exchange between the two countries.
Among the notable attendees were the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting and the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, along with Former Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed. During the celebrations, they emphasized the strong bond between Pakistan and China, referring to it as "higher than mountains, deeper than the ocean," a sentiment that underscores the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most significant festival in China and marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. In 2025, the Spring Festival heralds the Year of the Wood Snake, symbolizing wisdom and intuition.
As the largest and most celebrated festival in China, the Spring Festival is a time for family reunions, cultural performances, and festivities. The celebrations in Islamabad served to deepen cultural ties and foster understanding between the Pakistani and Chinese communities, showcasing a rich tapestry of traditions, values, and shared aspirations for the future.
