International Seminar on “President Xi’s Vision: Community with Shared Future in the Contemporary Era”

On 8th December 2021, an International Seminar on “President Xi’s Vision: Community with Shared Future in the Contemporary Era” was jointly organized by Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China & University of Sargodha, Sargodha.
The Seminar aimed to bring together intellectuals from the partner institutions on one platform to share their expertise and knowledge on the Chinese concept of “Community with Shared Future for Mankind” presented by President Xi Jinping.
The session commenced with the opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Vice-Chancellor University of Sargodha, Sargodha. He stated that Universities are the driving force hence their Internationalization is very important. It is the need of time that universities come out of isolation and cooperate with international universities. China has always promoted shared vision and communication. They have always promoted peace and collective progress.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China shared thoughts on Concept of Community of Shared Culture & Role of Partner Institutions (Special Focus on the Role Pakistan Research Center). He stated that the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with a shared future is established as a platform to support & build an academic global network with the help of international conferences, seminars, round table discussions, student and faculty exchange programs, and online international internship opportunities. Moreover, this project calls for closer cooperation between Pakistan and China in media communication and cultural fields, he added.
Ms. ZHAO Bo, Associate Professor, Director of the Department of Ideological and Political Science, Communication University of China, Marxism College, Beijing, China stated that the objective of shared future program is to assist the world in overcoming economic, political, and social challenges. International relations must be based on mutual benefits, as this would help China as well as the contemporary world in effectively confronting and resolving global concerns.
Ms. WANG Juan, Doctor of Communication and Associate Professor of the Communication University of China, Beijing, China stated that China appreciates the shares value of humankind such as peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom. In terms of spatial perspective, there is a need to stimulate the vitality of the digital economy and enhance the efficiency of digital government. For this, China is on the way towards a new era of digital civilization to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace. In terms of social perspective, when it comes to the economy, China believes in mutual benefits and win-win cooperation.
Dr. Imran Abbas, Assistant Professor, Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Sargodha, Sargodha presented speech on President Xi’s Vision to Address Challenges Faced by Global Community & their Solutions. He explained Chinese Premier Xi Jinping’s concept to address challenges faced by the global world. He said that the real aim of the Chinese premier vision is to practice democracy at the international level and to get sovereign equality and respect for each other.
Dr. Fazal ur Rehman, Director, Pakistan Institute of China Studies, University of Sargodha, Sargodha presented speech on “Dialogue of Civilizations & its Relevance in Contemporary World”. He emphasized the importance of Dialogue of Civilizations & its Relevance in the contemporary world. He said that we don't see any cultural domination in the Chinese premier vision of a shared future. The things that we see from the vision are peace, stability, and common prosperity, open and better connected Asia, and equality & respect for each other.
Ms. Laraib Fatima Hassan, Communication & Coordination Executive, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China presented speech on Sustainable Development Goals & Community with Shared Future. She mentioned that increased connectivity with other countries in the world will assist in eradicating global challenges. Therefore, we need to communicate and collaborate to accomplish the initiative of sustainable development goals.
Muhammad Zain ul Abidin, Department of Sociology & Criminology, University of Sargodha, Sargodha shared his views on Importance of Academic Networks for a Community with Shared Future and Inclusive Prosperity. While explaining the significance of global networking, he said that a good connection with other countries, virtually or physically, will uplift our Academic and Research careers.
The session concluded with the remarks by Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Vice-Chancellor University of Sargodha, Sargodha.
The Seminar was moderated by Ms. Madiha Ghaffar, Media & Communication Manager Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China and was attended by Dean, Head of Departments, Faculty members and students from the University.
