Understanding Culture and Traditions of China: Chinese Scholar Ms. Liu Bei Interview at Planet FM 87.6


On Tuesday, 18th April, 2023, Ms. Liu Bei, Chinese Media Science Expert was invited to live radio interview to program ‘Eurasian Perspective’ hosted by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director PRCCSF on channel Planet FM 87.6, Radio Pakistan.
Ms. Liu Bei, is a PhD scholar currently associated with National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad, Pakistan. She has been studying at Institute for International and Area Studies (IIAS) of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.
She said that, Pakistan is a very beautiful country and people of Pakistan have great warmth and hospitality. She appreciated the values, culture and traditions of Pakistan. She stated that, she got great chance to live in this country where there are many good opportunities for foreign students to pursue their goals.
Talking about cultural aspects, She said that Pakistan is a country rich in cultural heritage and there are lots of historical linkages in between Pakistan and China. Pakistan has an amazing food and cuisine and she has tried a lot of local food here which is very tasty. Pakistan’s traditional dresses are so attractive and she feels comfortable in wearing them.
While discussing about her education and career goals, she told that she had been student of Social Anthropology and then she opted for Media Studies. She said that social media has become part of our lives, this era is of information and technology and we need to focus more developing social interactions by using different tools for connectedness in this globalized world.
During the Interview, Ms. Liu was asked about cultures and traditions in China. She discussed about the important festivals in her country especially Spring festival and New Year Festival. In China family systems are strong and people spend holidays with their family and relatives. China has very modernized education system and international students from all over the world are studying in China. It is also one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world and travelling is more convenient across the cities. She mentioned the significance of The Great Wall of China and National Museum of China as great heritage of the country.
Ms. Liu Bei encouraged the youth that we need to build more stronger interactions with people of Pakistan and China in order to know about our culture and society. Students must go for information and technological disciplines for gaining knowledge and developing skills in these fields for better future. Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram acknowledged the Ms. Liu Bei sharing her views about Pakistan and China friendly relations.
