On 17th November 2021, a nine member delegation from Hanns Seidel Foundation Pakistan and Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad visited North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Headquarters at Brussels, Belgium. During this visit, the delegation met with the representatives of NATO.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director PRCCSF, Dr. Asif Ali, Vice-Chancellor, MNS University of Agriculture Multan and Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman, Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) represented PRCCSF and discussed NATO’s cooperation with Pakistan which has grown over the years.
During the meeting, the introductory remarks were presented by Carmen Romero, Deputy Assistant Secretary General, Public Diplomacy Division (PDD).
Mr. Nicola DE SANTIS, Head of Engagements Section, Public Diplomacy Division (PDD) discussed the Current political developments within NATO.
Ms. Sophie BRIQUETTI, Political Officer, Global Partnerships, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division (PASP) talked about “NATO’s partnership with Pakistan”.
Discussion on “NATO Cooperation with multilateral organisations” was conducted by Mr. Michel SOULA, Head, Multilateral Organisations, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division (PASP).
Mr. Ettore MARCHESONI, Programme Officer, Science for Peace and Security Programme (SPS), Emerging Security Challenges Division (ESC) discussed “NATO practical cooperation through Science with Pakistan”.
Mr. Christian LIFLÄNDER, Head, Cyber Defence Section, Emerging Security Challenges Division (ESC) addressed “NATO’s cyber security and digitisation”.
