On 4th November 2021, H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan visited the University of the Punjab, Lahore
The Ambassador was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Brigadier Mansoor Saeed (Retd), Vice President (Punjab Region), Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad, and various deans of departments from the University of the Punjab Lahore.
A meeting was arranged of H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan with Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Lahore, and various deans and heads of departments.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Dr. Zarqa Suherwardi Taimur.
Addressing the meeting, the Kazakh ambassador said that Kazakhstan and Pakistan enjoyed historical relations and both the countries were culturally connected. He emphasized that Kazakhstan is ready to promote economic and trade ties with Pakistan to strengthen the region. Furthermore, he was of the view that both countries should learn from each other’s knowledge, skills, and experiences. H.E Yerzhan Kistafin also mentioned the hospitable nature of the people of Pakistan and extended his gratitude to the University of the Punjab Lahore for their active cooperation and role in strengthening academic ties between Central & South Asia.
Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, University of Punjab, Lahore stated that academic ties between Kazakhstan and Pakistan have great potential, there can be specialized programs for faculty, students, and researchers to connect the academic fraternity of both countries.
Brigadier Mansoor Saeed (Retd), Vice President (Punjab Region), PRCCSF applauded the idea of Regional Integration and stated that PRCCSF has always promoted the role of academicians and students to enhance bilateral ties with Kazakhstan.
The meeting was followed by a seminar addressed by H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan. Discussing the role of students and youth he highlighted that the youth of Pakistan was one of its biggest resources and they could play an important role in national development. He also highlighted the culture, economy, and geopolitical importance of Kazakhstan.
