On 15th and 16th November 2023, China Economic and Social Forum 2023 was held at Head Quarters of CPPCC National Committee Beijing, China.
The China Economic and Social Council (CESC) is a high level think tank under the leadership of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a formal member of the institutions (AICESIS) and a member of its Board. CESC is committed to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with relevant organizations from countries and playing a positive role in promoting people-to-people bonds and achieving common development and prosperity.
During the CESC forum organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, notable figures including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Commerce, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, and Speakers from over 30 Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Partner countries were in attendance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech on the theme of ‘‘Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind to Promote World Peace and Development’’, while the Minister of Commerce addressed the audience on ‘‘Following Openness and Cooperation to Facilitate Global Development and Prosperity’’. Additionally, the Minister of Culture and Tourism presented a speech emphasizing ‘‘Upholding Dialogue of Civilizations to Advance Human Civilization and Progress’’.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, PRCCSF, had the honour of being a keynote speaker at the CESC forum. On November 15th, he delivered a speech titled "Fostering High-Quality Development Within the Belt and Road Initiative." On, November 16th, another Plenary Session was held at CESC, during which Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram presented a speech on the "Role of the Belt and Road Initiative in the Economic Cooperation Organization."
The China Economic and Social Forum launched by CESC is an important platform for dialogue and exchange and has been held for 17 times so far. This year CESC themed as ‘‘Openness, Development, Civilization- Building a Community for Shared Future for Mankind’’ the forum consisted of four parallel sessions: Strengthening Exchange of Concept and practice of Modernization, Fostering High-Quality Development within Belt and Road Initiative. Accelerating Green and Low-Carbon Transition and Deepening Exchange and mutual learning of Civilization.
