An online meeting held between Pakistan and Tanzania Research Centers chaired by Prof Costa Ricky Mahalu, Director of East African Research Center for a Community with Shared Future in Tanzania and the Vice Chancellor of the University of St. Augustine Tanzania. From Tanzania, Mr David Haruna Mrisho, Head of Department for Public Relations and Marketing, University of St. Augustine and the management participated. From Pakistan’s side, meeting was conducted by Mr Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future. Dr. Fouzia Hadi Ali, Director Regional Integration Center University of the Punjab, Dr. Zarmina Baloch, Director Regional Connectivity Center SBB Women University Peshawar, Dr Hina Shahid, Director Regional Media Corridor Connectivity Center Foundation University Islamabad, Dr Sumaira Gul, HoD International Relations Department SBB Women University Peshawar also participate.
The participants of the meeting decided to work jointly for enhancing connectivity between Asia and African Regions. The participants also made a special mention of China’s Belt and Road program which has enabled a broader connectivity not only between the regional countries but also among various continents. Pakistan and Tanzania being part of Belt and Road Initiative connectivity corridor, can play a greater role for people-to-people connectivity between the two important continents.The participants also thank the Institute for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China for bridging this long-awaited scholarly gap between Asia and Africa. It was also decided that joint research projects, seminars, cultural connectivity and media connectivity projects will be undertaken to enhance the collaboration between Pakistan and Tanzania and also other partner countries of Belt and Road Initiative.
