Conference on “Mihai Eminescu and Allama Iqbal – Cultural Bridges between Romania and Pakistan,” Jointly organized by The Embassy of Romania in Islamabad in collaboration with the National Language Promotion Department Pakistan


On 25th January 2024, The Embassy of Romania in Islamabad in collaboration with the National Language Promotion Department Pakistan, hosted a significant cultural conference titled “Mihai Eminescu and Allama Iqbal – Cultural Bridges between Romania and Pakistan.” The aim of the conference was to enhance cultural understanding and celebrate the shared heritage of the two nations.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, PRCCSF was a keynote speaker. In his speech, Mr. Akram highlighted the cultural relations between Romania and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The life and work of Mihai Eminescu, a prominent figure in Romanian literature, was also presented to the audience, along with the significance of his work for Romanian culture. The connections and similarities between the national poets of Romania (Mihai Eminescu) and Pakistan (Allama Muhammad Iqbal) were also discussed.
Advocate Zaildar Ahsan Shah, Vice Chairman, Board of Experts PRCCSF and Dr. Hina Shahid, Member Board of Experts PRCCSF also participated and spoke on the occasion. They highlighted the importance of cultural exchange between Romania and Pakistan, and the role of literature in promoting understanding and harmony between nations.
The conference served as a manifestation of the community of shared future between the two nations. It delved into the deep-rooted cultural relations between Romania and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, highlighting the similarities and connections between the two nations. The seminar was attended by 100 individuals from different backgrounds including diplomats, students, academics, and cultural enthusiasts.
