Presidential Elections 2024 in the Republic of Azerbaijan: Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram is invited as International Election Observer


On 7 February 2024, the Republic of Azerbaijan successfully conducted Presidential Elections 2024 as per the scheduled timeline.
The Azerbaijan government has invited a number of international observers to monitor the electoral process. Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, PRCSSF, was also invited as an International Observer for the presidential elections, and he actively participated in this process. He visited various polling stations in different areas of Baku and highly appreciated the arrangements made by the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan for the successful conduct of elections. The elections were conducted in strict compliance with the country's electoral legislation, international norms and standards, and democratic principles of transparency and fairness.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram observed that elections are conducted with fairness and transparency while ensuring every essential arrangement has been made. He acknowledged the commendable endeavours undertaken by the Azerbaijani leadership in safeguarding the rights of its citizens. The elections were meticulously organized, with voters approaching the polls with enthusiasm and good spirits.
President Ilham Aliyev achieved a resounding victory with an overwhelming 92.32% of the vote. The electoral process was transparent, independent, and well-organized. The Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan deserves recognition for ensuring the integrity of the democratic process.
