Supreme Court of Pakistan Invites Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram as Special Guest at the Climate Change Conference on "Navigating Climate Governance: Executive Action and Judicial Oversight" Organized by the Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan Building in Islamabad

On 8th June 2024, Supreme Court of Pakistan invited Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) as special guest at the Climate Change Conference on “Navigating Climate Governance: Executive Action and Judicial Oversight organized by Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan at Supreme Court of Pakistan Building, Islamabad This conference was arranged by Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Member of LJCP, along with Ms. Riffat Inam Butt, Secretary, Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chairman of LJCP, Mr. Justice Qazi Faez Isa, was the chief guest at the conference and shared valuable insights on the importance of climate governance, emphasizing the role of the judiciary in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.
Three panel discussions were held during the conference, with His Excellency Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, discussing the international perspective on climate change and the importance of collaborative efforts.
The conference included 12 panelists who engaged in discussions on various aspects of climate change and environmental issues. The conference provided a platform for meaningful discussions and insights on climate governance, emphasizing the need for collective action and judicial oversight in combating climate change.
