On 2nd August 2024, Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) participated as a Speaker at the Conference "Global Opportunities in Developing China's Reform in the New Era" jointly organized by Federal Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and China Media Group (CMG) at Islamabad.
The conference focused on key themes including Chinese modernization, reform and opening up, economic growth, and technological innovation. It featured distinguished speakers and provided a platform for insightful discussions. Ms. Du Jianing, Director of China Media Group Islamabad, gave the opening remarks, welcoming all the guests.
A video message by Mr. Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC and Head of CMG, highlighted how CMG has consistently told stories about China's reform and opening up, as well as Chinese modernization. He emphasized that CMG builds bridges for dialogue and mutual exchange between China and the world.
H.E. Shi Yuanqiang, the Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, was the guest of honor. The distinguished speakers included Mr. Asim Khan, Project Director at the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives; Dr. Liaqat Yousafzai, Executive Director of the CPEC-Center of Excellence; and Dr. Nadeem Javed, Consultant at the National Economic Transformation Unit.
In his keynote speech, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram discussed the collaborative efforts for technological advancements between China and Pakistan. He highlighted the flourishing partnership between the two countries, emphasizing the significant steps being taken in the IT sector. He noted that Chinese companies and brands are leading in bringing investments and projects to Pakistan, working closely with local communities to achieve substantial technological progress. He also spoke about the future prospects of this partnership, built on mutual respect and shared goals, which will pave the way for a brighter, more technologically advanced future for both Pakistan and China.
