On September 19, 2024, the National Library of Pakistan in Islamabad hosted a significant dialogue titled “Development of CPEC and Possibilities for the Youth.” The event was inaugurated by Mr. Raja Javed Iqbal, Director General of the National Library of Pakistan, who emphasized the necessity for youth to be informed and educated about CPEC’s implications for their future career prospects.
The distinguished panel included Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF); Mr. Asim Khan, Head of Development Communications at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives; and Mr. Obaid Ayub, Director Operations at House of Elaan. Together, they brought valuable experience and insights to the discussion.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram provided an in-depth analysis of CPEC’s development, explaining how the corridor can serve as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation across various sectors, including energy, transportation, and trade.
Mr. Asim Khan highlighted the importance of digitization and future prospects for youth. He discussed various opportunities and exchange programs aimed at enhancing youth employability within the context of CPEC and elaborated on government initiatives focused on skills development and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Obaid Ayub spoke about detailing training programs included Web Development, SEO, and Digital Marketing. He emphasized the role of educational institutions in preparing youth for the opportunities linked to CPEC, outlining initiatives designed to integrate practical training with academic learning to ensure that students meet the evolving demands of the job market.
The dialogue concluded by underscoring the importance of fostering a proactive and informed youth population ready to seize the opportunities presented by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
