Ms. Mehreen Gul, Deputy Director, PRCCSF participated as a speaker in the 4th Dialogue on China Conference titled, “Harvesting the winds of change: China and the global actors” held at Belgrade, Republic of Serbia on 10 – 11 October 2024


On 10 October 2024, Ms. Mehreen Gul, Deputy Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), participated as a speaker in the 4th Dialogue on China Conference titled, “Harvesting the winds of change: China and the global actors” held at Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. Ms. Mehreen Gul delivered speech on theme, “China and the EU: Between Strategic Autonomy and Interdependence”.
During her speech, Ms. Gul explored the relationship between China and the European Union (EU) within the framework of strategic autonomy and interdependence. This topic is particularly relevant as both China and the EU are major global players with distinct interests, while also sharing interconnected economic, political, and strategic ties. She discussed how both entities navigate the balance between asserting their strategic autonomy and recognizing the mutual benefits of interdependence in various areas, including trade, investment, technology, and global governance.

Additionally, speakers from various countries, including China, Russia, and various European countries, who presented on diverse themes such as “China and the Return of the Great Power Storm,” “China and the Global South: Emergent Poles and Divergent Paths,” and “China and Multilateralism: Horizons of Normative Power.”
Overall, the conference served as a platform for insightful discussions about the evolving dynamics of global cooperation and competition, emphasizing the critical role of China and its relationships with other major global actors.
