On 13 November 2024, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad.
During the meeting, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram expressed his appreciation for Senator Siddiqui’s efforts and the initiatives of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. He acknowledged that Senator Irfan Siddiqui and the committee's work in promoting soft diplomacy play a crucial role in shaping a more favorable perception of Pakistan on the international stage. Soft diplomacy, which emphasizes cultural exchanges, open dialogue, and mutual understanding, is increasingly recognized as an effective tool for fostering better international relationships.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui expressed his appreciation for Mr. Akram's significant contributions toward promoting the concept of a community with a shared future and enhancing research, academic collaborations and people-to-people connectivity for China, Central Asia and other Eurasian countries.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram also presented his book titled “Building a Community with Shared Future: A Hope for Mankind” to Senator Irfan Siddiqui, who remarked on the book's valuable insights concerning the Belt and Road Initiative and regional connectivity.
