On 20th November 2024, as part of a joint fellowship program, Mr. Muhammad Ali Pasha, Patron-In-Chief of the media house The Gulf Observer, led an engaging and interactive training session focused on the significant role that media plays in shaping narratives and the diverse career pathways available in this ever-evolving landscape for aspiring media professionals.
The session commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Inshrah Komal, who encouraged student participation and engagement. Dr. Kalsoom Hanif, the Coordinator for the Student Fellowship Initiative, who expressed gratitude for Mr. Pasha’s presence and shared valuable insights. She highlighted the importance of the session and recognized Mr. Pasha's extensive expertise in the media field.
During the session, Mr. Ali Pasha captivated the students with his knowledge and experience, emphasizing the transformative power of digital media. He elaborated on how globalization and diversification have led to significant changes in the media landscape, presenting both opportunities and challenges for new entrants in the field. Mr. Pasha also stressed the critical importance of distinguishing between fake news and authentic information, building on the principles introduced in prior sessions. His emphasis on the role of social media in shaping narratives painted a compelling picture of how these platforms can influence public perception and career trajectories.
The training session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which students actively participated, shared their viewpoints, and posed questions to Mr. Ali Pasha. Ms. Inshrah expressed appreciation to Mr. Pasha for his valuable time and the insightful session.
Currently, about 30 master's and bachelor's level students are participating in this fellowship program.
