On 22nd January 2025, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) delivered lecture on "Importance of Mediation in Regional Connectivity through China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)" at the Mediation Advocacy Training jointly conducted by The Society of Mediators (Pakistan Chapter), in collaboration with the Islamabad Bar Council (IBC), the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDI), and the Society of Research and Legal Studies (SRLS) held at Islamabad Bar Council.
The event featured an inspiring keynote lecture by the Honorable Vice Chairman, Islamabad Bar Council, Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, who shared valuable insights on the importance of mediation advocacy in enhancing legal practices and resolving disputes effectively.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram’s lecture specifically focused on how mediation can facilitate regional connectivity through CPEC. He elaborated on the significance of CPEC as a transformative initiative that not only enhances economic cooperation between China and Pakistan but also presents unique challenges that mediation can help address. His insights emphasized the potential of mediation to bridge cultural and political divides, ultimately contributing to the stability and development of the region.
The training program also featured other distinguished trainers, including Barrister Saad Ahmad, an Accredited Mediator, and Mr. Malik Qatadah Jamal Khan, a senior Accredited Mediator. Both trainers shared their extensive knowledge and practical experiences in the field of mediation, enriching the learning experience for the attendees.
