10-Day Course on "Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development for South Asian Countries" (December 15th - 24th)


Ms. Mehreen Gul, Deputy Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF),Islamabad, Pakistan attended the 10-day course on "Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development for South Asian Countries (Dec 15th-24th)".
The event was hosted by Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The course aimed to explain China's Policy towards South Asia, grand narrative of Building a Community with a Shared Future and prospects of cooperation between China and South Asian countries. The course was comprised of 12 lectures by the official representatives of Chongqing Agriculture and Rural committee, The South Asian Affairs Division, the Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chongqing Rural Revitalization Bureau, Chongqing Civil Affairs Bureau and professors from Southwest University.
The speakers discussed the Interpretation of the Core Idea of Getting rid of Poverty. They also shed light on Chongqing’s working on Rural Industry Revitalization. Moreover, Ecological Civilization, Construction and Agricultural Sustainable Development were among the major themes of discussion. 55 participates from 5 countries attended the course. Ms. Mehreen Gul, Deputy Director, PRCCSF shared her analysis on recent poverty alleviation policies of Pakistan and highlighted significant initiatives taken by the Prime Minister Imran Khan to curb this issue.
