The IX Moscow conference on International Security in Moscow, Russia is being organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to discuss the issues of the contemporary global and regional security agendas, their possible solutions, and the role of military cooperation.
The opening ceremony was attended by delegates from more than 30 countries and Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad represented Pakistan and attended the opening and plenary sessions of the conference.
The opening ceremony was first addressed by the Army General Sergey Shoygu the Russian Minister of Defence.
H.E Vladimir Putin, President of Russia also addressed the opening ceremony of the conference and welcomed the delagates.
After the remarks from the leadership of the Russian Federation, the First plenary session on, Strategic Stability: transformation and prospects was commenced, the session was moderated by Colonel-General Alexandaer Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation.
The Plenary session invited panelists from Russia, Belarus, China, Qatar and Afghanistan.
Army General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of General Staff of the Russian Federation Armed forces- Frist Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation addressed the conference. He highlighted the concept of improving mechanisms to ensure strategic stability. He also highlighted that Russia calls upon enhanced cooperation in the Military sphere.
From China, Colonel-General Wei Fenghe, Minister of Defence of China addressed the conference. He highlighted that China's humanitarian role during the global pandemic was exemplary as it facilitated 170 countries by providing them vaccines. He also emphasized that China is ready for more cooperation.
The Second Plenary Session revolved around the concept of The Asia-Pacific region in the context of global politics. Panelists from Myanmar, Maldives, Russia, Bangladesh, Veitnam and Brunei Darussalam.
Panelists discussed contemporary threats and challenges to security in the Asia Pacific Region and importance of Multilateral dialogue and extra regional partners.
In the third plenary session the panelists discussed “Role of military agencies in fighting against the new coronavirus infection COVID-19” was held. Delegates from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Uganda and United Nations participated.
They discussed countering the spread of a new coronavirus infection among personnel of the armed forces and interaction of military agencies.
The forth plenary session revolved around Information security: problems and solutions in which the delegates discussed falsification of history as an element of information warfare and Structure of information warfare in the armed forces: role and place.
From the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Hilal Hussain, Secretary Defence of the Ministry of Defense participated and discussed the concept.
Other panelists from Germany, Serbia, Venezuela, and Canada participated.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, PRCCSF also attended the reception hosted on behalf of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey SHOYGU.
